Israel has warned its citizens in the United Arab Emirates (UAE) of an increased terror threat. Most of Israel’s diplomatic staff in the UAE are now being evacuated. The National Security Council (NSC) updated its travel warning, urging Israelis to avoid non-essential trips. It also advised citizens to seriously reconsider any planned visits.
The warning follows what Israel describes as increased threats from groups like Hamas, Hezbollah, and Iranian-backed militias. The NSC cited recent Israeli military operations in Gaza and Iran as possible reasons for a rise in hostile activity. It also mentioned the spread of anti-Israel rhetoric and incitement, especially after Operation Iron Swords. Officials believe revenge attacks may be planned.
The warning stressed that Jewish individuals in the UAE may be targeted. The risk could rise around Jewish holidays and Shabbat. Though the alert level remains at Level III, Israel sees the current environment as especially volatile. Past incidents suggest that such threats often surface in nearby countries. The statement calls for heightened vigilance.
Since the Abraham Accords in 2020, Israeli visibility in the UAE has increased. Thousands of Israelis visit or live there, and Jewish life has become more public. However, recent tensions have raised safety concerns. In March, the UAE sentenced three people to death for the murder of an Israeli-Moldovan rabbi. Such crimes are extremely rare in the country.
The Israeli foreign ministry and UAE officials have not yet commented on the travel alert. But the warning comes amid growing international scrutiny of Israel’s actions in Gaza. At the same time, fears of regional retaliation remain high. With diplomatic staff pulling out and threats looming, Israeli citizens are being urged to stay alert.
