Hajj 2026: Over 200,000 Pakistanis registered as deadline approaches

Published on: July 8, 2025 10:03 PM

More than 200,000 Pakistanis have already registered for Hajj 2026, as confirmed by the Ministry of Religious Affairs. With the registration deadline set for tomorrow, officials have urged all aspiring pilgrims to complete the process in time to be considered eligible.

A spokesperson from the ministry explained that the registration is mandatory and can be completed easily through the ministry’s online portal, allowing people to register from the comfort of their homes. Importantly, no registration fee is required at this stage. The early registration process is being carried out on the instructions of the Saudi government, aiming to ensure better planning and quota allocation.

The ministry clarified that only those who register before the deadline will be allowed to apply under either the government or private Hajj schemes later on. Details about costs, facilities, and requirements will be announced separately in the upcoming official Hajj policy. Registered applicants will have the option to choose the scheme that best fits their needs.

Once the registration process concludes, the ministry will compile and send the final list of applicants to Saudi Arabia. The Saudi government will then allocate Pakistan’s Hajj quota based on the total number of registered pilgrims. This step is crucial to avoid any last-minute issues and to ensure proper logistical arrangements for Pakistani Hajj pilgrims.

The Ministry of Religious Affairs has advised those planning to perform Hajj in 2026 to act promptly and register before the cut-off date. Those who fail to register on time will not be eligible to apply under any scheme, regardless of their intention or ability to pay later.
