LAHORE – Punjab’s flagship housing initiative, Apni Chhat Apna Ghar, is making swift progress as over 140,000 homes are nearing completion, according to provincial ministers. The announcement came during a joint press conference by Punjab Information Minister Azma Bokhari and Housing Minister Bilal Yasin.
Azma Bokhari praised the program’s rapid advancement, noting that 40,000 houses have already been constructed within just one year. She highlighted the provincial government’s commitment to welfare and transparency. “Unlike past promises of five million homes, we’re delivering real results,” she said.
The minister also emphasized that the 2025–26 provincial budget reflects Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s people-first approach. “Every rupee is treated as public trust. There’s no space for political drama—only genuine service to the people,” Bokhari added.
Housing Minister Bilal Yasin stated that the government aims to complete 50,000 additional homes this month alone. He noted that over 3.5 million applications have been received so far, showing strong public interest in the scheme. “This is a budget filled with relief and hope for ordinary citizens,” he said.
Yasin also highlighted CM Maryam Nawaz’s hands-on leadership, stating that she reviews project updates daily. He further announced a green initiative that includes the launch of 1,100 eco-friendly buses across Punjab to improve public transport and cut emissions.
Together, the ministers reaffirmed that the government remains focused on action, not words. With thousands of homes nearly complete and more underway, the Apni Chhat Apna Ghar scheme promises to bring long-term change to Punjab’s housing landscape.
