Iran’s President Calls for National Unity Against Israeli Aggression

Published on: June 16, 2025 4:51 PM

Tehran – Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian on Monday called on all Iranians to unite and stand strong against what he described as Israeli aggression. Speaking during a session of parliament, he stressed that the entire nation must come together in this critical time.

Pezeshkian made it clear that Iran has no intention of developing nuclear weapons. Instead, he emphasized the country’s right to pursue peaceful nuclear energy and research to support its development and progress. He warned that no one has the legal right to deny Iran this fundamental right.

He urged the people to put aside all disagreements and focus on unity and solidarity in the face of what he called “genocidal criminal aggression” by Israel. Pezeshkian said Iran’s strength lies in the unity between its people and leadership.

The president also reaffirmed the religious decree, or fatwa, issued by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, which bans the production and use of weapons of mass destruction. This decree, he said, guides Iran’s nuclear policy firmly towards peaceful purposes.

He concluded by reminding the nation that standing together is their greatest asset. Pezeshkian’s message was clear: Iran will defend its rights and will not be intimidated by any external power threatening its sovereignty.

This call for unity comes amid ongoing tensions in the region, as Iran faces increasing pressure over its nuclear program and regional policies. The president’s speech aims to rally public support and strengthen national resolve during these challenging times.
