Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has completed consultations for squads against Bangladesh and West Indies. They plan to convert three One Day Internationals (ODIs) into Twenty20 (T20) matches. This change still needs approval from the host boards. If agreed, PCB will soon announce the T20 squads for both tours.
PCB is currently waiting for a response from the West Indies Cricket Board. Officials are optimistic about a positive reply. Once confirmed, PCB will finalize and announce the full squads without delay.
The upcoming T20 squads will have only minor changes. Sufiyan Muqeem is expected to make the team. However, star players like Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan, and Shaheen Afridi may not be included this time, signaling a shift in team strategy.
Mohammad Rizwan faces increasing challenges to secure his place. PCB’s selection committee believes players can still make strong comebacks. They have encouraged all players to perform well in domestic and international matches to strengthen their case.
The PCB has assured players that no one is barred from selection. The board is focusing on building a strong team by nurturing young talent. This approach aims to create a modern, competitive squad for Pakistan’s cricket future.
