RAWALPINDI – Pakistan’s security forces killed nine militants linked to the Indian-sponsored group “Fitna Al Khwarij” during multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on May 17 and 18, 2024. The operations, carried out in Lakki Marwat, Bannu, and North Waziristan, were part of a broader effort to eliminate terrorist threats in the region.
In Lakki Marwat District, five militants were neutralized when security personnel launched a targeted operation based on credible intelligence. The troops effectively engaged the enemy, eliminating all threats at the site. Officials confirmed that all individuals killed were linked to the Indian proxy group, highlighting continued foreign involvement in destabilizing Pakistan’s security.
Similarly, another successful IBO in Bannu District resulted in the elimination of two more militants. Security forces acted swiftly and decisively, ensuring no civilian harm while dismantling a potential threat. These back-to-back operations demonstrate the forces’ readiness and precision in neutralizing terrorism networks backed by external actors.
Meanwhile, in North Waziristan’s Mir Ali area, militants ambushed a convoy of security forces. The troops responded bravely, killing two attackers in the exchange of fire. However, the clash resulted in the martyrdom of two soldiers: Sepoy Farhad Ali Turi (29) from District Kurram and Lance Naik Sabir Afridi (32) from District Kohat. Both fought courageously and sacrificed their lives for the nation.
Following the engagements, sanitization operations are underway to clear the surrounding areas of any remaining threats. The military remains committed to eradicating terrorism, and officials reaffirmed that the sacrifices of fallen heroes only deepen the resolve to secure Pakistan’s peace and stability.
These coordinated operations reflect Pakistan’s unwavering stance against terrorism and its determination to defeat enemy proxies operating within its borders. The nation stands united in honoring the bravery of its soldiers and rejecting all forms of foreign-sponsored violence.
