Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Shandana Gulzar Khan on Saturday firmly rejected the possibility of any deal involving party founder Imran Khan, asserting that he would not compromise under pressure.
Speaking to reporters outside the Anti-Terrorism Court in Rawalpindi, Shandana stated that she had been booked in two separate cases simply for voicing support for party workers. She criticised the legal actions against her as politically motivated.
Fellow PTI leader Zartaj Gul also addressed the media, dismissing the cases against Shandana as “false and baseless” and called for their immediate dismissal.
Faisal Malik, Imran Khan’s attorney, stated during the court proceedings that the legal team had notified the court that they were prepared to move forward with the trial and emphasised the requirement that Imran Khan be present in jail for discussions pertaining to the case.
Malik also requested the court to consolidate all cases linked to the events of May 9, when nationwide protests erupted following Imran Khan’s arrest last year.
The legal proceedings continue as PTI leaders maintain that the charges against them are part of a broader crackdown on the party and its leadership.
