Pakistan have whitewashed Sri Lanka with a devastated bowling by Usman Khan’s 5-34, finished the series by nine-wicket glorious victory in the fifth match on Monday.
Usman’s 5-34 in seven overs reduced Sri Lanka to 103 all out in 26.2 overs at Sharjah Stadium. Pakistan achieved the paltry target in 20.2 overs.
This was Pakistan’s sixth whitewash in a five-match ODI series. They had blanked Zimbabwe (2002 and 2008), Bangladesh (2003 and 2008) and New Zealand in 2003 in the past.
The win was Pakistan’s ninth in a row since winning the Champions trophy in June this year while Sri Lanka had also been whitewashed by South Africa and India in this year.
Fakhar Zaman gave a total 48 score in his 47-ball knock while unbeaten Imam finished the match with a boundary.
