National Incubation Center hosted 7th National Investment Summit

The National Incubation Center Islamabad hosted its 7th National Investment Summit (NIS) virtually. The NIS is a platform that bridges the gap between Pakistani startups and investors from across the globe, creating more opportunities for both innovators and investors to interact with one another.

Previously, the NIC has conducted 6 successful summits that have featured 74 Startups for a combined $53.7 million investment opportunity. This year a total of 87 applications were received, of which 10 startups were shortlisted out of which 4 startups were women lead. The participating startups pitched their innovative ideas to Venture Capitalists and Angels Investors. More than 52 Investors participated from the UK, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Malaysia, Australia, Portugal, and other parts of the world. Veon Ventures, Sarmayacar, Syngenta Ventures Indus venture, Deosai, Plug N Play, Fatima Gobi Ventures, Sharooq Partners, 47 ventures, and Zayn Capital were to name some of the Venture Capitalists at the National Investment Summit.

The potential of the Pakistani startup ecosystem has been recognized the world over, and the time is now to bring investors, regulators, and other stakeholders onto a common platform to identify gridlocks and supercharge the growth of the ecosystem. At the National Incubation Center, we proudly bear the flag of startup innovation and networking in Pakistan; through our efforts, we aim to create a propitious framework for investors and startups.

About the NIC: The NIC, established in 2016, is a public-private partnership between the Ministry of IT, Ignite, Jazz, and Teamup. To date, the NIC has incubated more than 300 startups in 12 cohorts, who have combined raised PKR 7.4 B investment and revenue.
