‘Bouncing around like a rabbit’: William reveals what Prince George will be doing on Christmas

Published on: December 7, 2015 8:49 PM

Prince George will be “bouncing around like a rabbit” at Christmas, his dad Prince William has predicted.

William said George, who turned two in July, “suddenly appreciates Christmas”, adding, “If I get any sleep on Christmas Eve it’ll be good.”

The prince opened up about his family in a rare personal interview given to trainee journalist Sophia Kichou, 24, who he met four years ago when she was homeless. On a 2011 visit to his Centrepoint charity Sophia told him she wanted to be a journalist and he said if she achieved her dream he would give her an interview.

She is now in her final year studying for a journalism degree at City University and the interview will be published in the Big Issue.

She told the Mail on Sunday, “He is obviously a prince who keeps his promise.”

William opened up about Christmas with George and Charlotte, which the Cambridges are expected to spend at their country home Anmer Hall after the adults attend church with the royal family at Sandringham.

He said, “We’ll go to church as a family on Christmas Day as we always do. Then we’ll watch George try to tackle his presents as he tries to unwrap them. It’s a very different experience at Christmas, having a family of your own. It’d be nice if we got a white Christmas because we haven’t had one in many years.”

William and Kate moved into 10-bedroom home Anmer Hall around 18 months ago after an extensive renovation project.

It was given to them by the Queen as a wedding present and is on her 20,000 acre Sandringham Estate.

A no-fly zone has been imposed over Anmer for the couple’s security and privacy and William and Kate are keen to give their children as normal an upbringing as possible.

Last week they released new images of Princess Charlotte at six months, the first time she has been seen since her christening in July.
