Letting women work alongside men is fascinating as it yields extraordinary results. Pakistani women have proved themselves to be at the top in almost every field and have made Pakistan proud with their work.
To regain the lost and elapsed identity of our national heroes, the National Hero Foundation (NHF) established a non-profit independent company to recognise the great Pakistanis who left their footprints in history through their commendable work and services for the nation. The NHF began the Wonder Women of the Year Awards in 2011 to recognise the lost heroes.
The Wonder Women Awards acknowledge the struggle and inspiration of extraordinary women that demonstrate power and impact through their services for the nation.
The Wonder Women of the Year Awards 2016 were held on Monday at the Arts Council of Pakistan, Karachi in recognition of International Women’s Day. The ceremony started with the recitation of naat and after that short speeches by previous winners and the NHF CEO Sheikh Rashid Alam in honour of glorious women achievers, were delivered. A total of 40 extraordinary women were awarded for their praiseworthy services that have made the country proud.
Dr Shaista Lodhi was also from one of the 40 other inspirational women. She was nominated in the category of Best Morning Show Host.
“A new face was given to morning shows by her and so she became popular by setting some great records in the history. She started her career as a radio jockey and is currently hosting a a very successful morning show,” Capital Administration & Development Division Minister Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said.
Dr Tariq Fazal Chaudhry said this before honouring her with the Woman Of Inspiration Award. He was the guest of honour at the event.
“I would like to thank all of the bad times and people who made me stronger, especially those who were by my side in my days of hardship and taught me the lesson of being satisfied with things as they are. If I can do it and all these wonderful and brave ladies can do it, so can you,” Shaista Lodhi said while giving an interview to a local TV channel.
We congratulate and wish Dr Shaista all the best for more success, recognition and fame.
