The number of HIV positive patients in Pakistan’s Ratodero town has reached 1,182 up to Saturday, since last seven months when the screening was launched on 25th April when national and international media highlighted the massive outbreak among the little children between the age group of 0 to 10 years. As many as 22 new HIV positive cases were detected in last 15 days from 8th November. Out of these 1182 total cases, 240 are adults and 942 are children. According to official figures submitted to this scribe by Provincial Program Manager, Sindh AIDS Control Program (SACP), Dr. Sikandar Memon, out of 240 adult cases, 62 are males and 178 are females. Among the 942 children, 583 are males and 359 are females. So far 37,328 men. women and children among the general population have been screened at the Screening Camp established specifically for this purpose at Taluka Headquarter Hospital, Ratodero, since 25th April, 2019. On Saturday 36 cases were tested and one little boy was found positive. On November 08, the total positive cases were 1160 of them 235 were adults (61 males and 174 females) and 925 were children (570 males and 355 females).
