The city police officer (CPO) Rawalpindi on Friday dismissed eight inspectors and a sub-inspector for keeping close connections with criminals and other allegations, which were proved during the departmental inquiries. According to the police spokesperson, the CPO Muhammad Faisal Rana, during an orderly room held on the other day, dismissed, former SHO Rawat Inspector Saleem, former SHO R.A Bazar, Inspector Khalid Satti, former SHO Naseerabad Inspector Rana Zulfiqar, former SHO Newtown Inspector Musaddiq, former SHO Taxila Inspector Faisal Manzoor, former SHO Pir Wadhai Inspector Raja Rasheed, former SHO Ratta Inspector Sajid, Inspector Raja Asif and former SHO City Sub Inspector Shafqat. The Police Officials have been dismissed from service for keeping links with the criminals, failure in controlling crime and other serious allegations. The City Police Officer held departmental inquiries against the officials under Police Rules and dismissed them from service as the allegations were proved during the inquiries. The CPO added, said that, the progress of police cannot be maintained as per the expectations of the public without strict accountability in the disciplined force. Departmental accountability will eliminate law breaking elements form the force which is the custodian of the law, and only law abiding officials having faith in the supremacy of law can make police a force in a real sense, the CPO maintained. Faisal Rana said that as law breaking police officials have been awarded strict punishment according to rules, likewise, those who work for the supremacy of law and guard the life and property of the people will also be rewarded as per rules.
