Gang of dacoits busted; valuables worth Rs 4 million recovered

ISLAMABAD: Special Investigation Unit (SIU) of Islamabad Police on Tuesday busted a gang involved in robbery and burglary incidents in various areas of the federal capital.

According to police spokesman, gold worth more than Rs 1.5 million, foreign currency, prize bonds, car and electronic equipment had been recovered from them. He said the gang was involved in burglary and robbery in various areas including Media Town, National Police Foundation, Bahria Enclave, Naval Encourage, Sector G-6 and other prominent areas of the federal capital. 

The nabbed dacoits had been identified as Syed Wali alias Mama s/o Muhammad Wali, Noorullah alias Zafar s/o Shah Wali, Sher khan s/o Gul Roz Khan, Hamdullah s/o Saeed Khan, Jehanzeb Khan alias Khaista Khan and Deewana s/o Shah Wali, Muhammad Irfan Haider s/o Akhter Abbas Sabz Ali s/o Mir Hazir Khan.

Police recovered a Kalashnikov, two 30 bore, a latest model car, motorbike, 35 tola gold jewellery, cash Rs 8,500,000, $200, four LCDs, four laptops, one stitching machine, and prize bond worth Rs 80,000 from them.

The members of this gang had previously remained jail birds. Further investigation was underway and more recovery was expected.

Meanwhile, the SIU team nabbed a car lifter Qazi Nazakat Mehmood s/o Qazi Aziz and recovered a stolen car from him.
