Screenwriter and actor Vasay Chaudhry pointed out the huge difference between the ban imposed on airing of Indian content in the country by the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority and its implementation across the country. After the Pulwama attack, relations deteriorated between the archrivals, when Indian cable operators despite a contract, refused to air Pakistan Super League matches. Similarly, the all India Cinema Association boycotted and warned to take stern actions against those who will cast Pakistani artistes leading for a tit for tat ban in Pakistan. Speaking to the media, Vasay Chaudhry stated that implementation of the order should be checked and the cable operators airing Indian content despite the ban need to be curbed. Illegal sale of Indian pirated films across Pakistan should stop; piracy is a universal crime that should have been dealt with a couple of years back. Speaking to the media, Vasay Chaudhry stated that implementation of the order should be checked and the cable operators continuing to air Indian content despite the ban need to be curbed Chaudhry was flustered over why the Pakistani businessmen continue to use Indian artistes in their advertisements. “Law needs to be implemented across the board when under the current scenario, there’s a ban on cable operators on airing the content.Businessmen should adhere to the law as well,” he added. Chaudhry hoped that relations would get better with India whether its cricket, politics or arts and culture. Commercialism and business interests play a major role in reducing tensions. Moreover, the political scenario in India is pivotal for restoration of ties as Indian elections are currently underway. May be their strategy would change after elections and if that happens who would say no to peace. News desk
