Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) senior leader and member of the National Assembly, Khursheed Ahmed Shah, on Wednesday, slammed the federal government for transferring the mega money laundering case to Islamabad. He strongly condemned the crackdown against PPP workers in Islamabad, Rawalpindi during an interaction with media persons in Sukkur. The PPP leader further added that Rawalpindi’s history should be remembered by everyone. He recalled that previously, dead bodies of Sindhi leaders who had gone to the city were sent back to Sindh. ‘Are courts in Sindh incompetent ?’ he questioned. He wondered why were cases not sent to Larkana, Nawabshah or Sukkur, but kept within their domains. Former Prime Minister (PM), Ex-President Benazir and Asif Zardari were too imprisoned on verdicts of Islamabad High Court (IHC) in the past, he added. PPP Provincial chief, Nisar Ahmed Khuhrom also condemned the arrests of PPP activists in Islamabad, on Wednesday. He said this in his address to a sit-in staged by PPP activists in Jinnah Bagh Chowk, in Larkana, while adding that these arrests have reminded the people of the dictatorial times. The history of Rawalpindi was said to be repeated. Khuhro added that in the past, dead bodies of Shaheed Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto and Shaheed Benazir Bhutto were sent from the city, which was again chosen for Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other party leaders. He said that his party would not tolerate such tyranny and asked party workers to be prepared for a struggle against the dictatorial designs of the federal government. He noted that PPP was being pushed to the wall but they would not succeed. He demanded an immediate release of the arrested workers of the party. Khuhro accused the prime minister of failing to give relief to the people braving the worst price hike. To hide their failure, the federal government was trying to spread panic and chaos, he maintained. PPP chief said that PM Khan was unable to run the country and his administration was now suppressing the voice of the opposition; subjecting them to a vendetta.
