In the New Year 2019, the CSR Club Pakistan will embark upon a mission to act upon a composite plan to do tree plantation campaigns, health, educational, and skill development programs, and jobs creation for youth. This will be achieved by undertaking collaborative measures with the concerned corporations, non-governmental organizations, industrial associations, and other stakeholders.

Representatives of different corporate entities attended the meeting of Corporate Social Responsibility Club Pakistan chaired by notable social figure and former caretaker Sindh minister for Information and Environment Jameel Yousuf. Other attendees of the meeting included chief of Engro Foundation Fawad Soomro, Ruqiya Naeem, Engineer Nadeem Ashraf, Abdullah Feroz of Friends of Burns Centre, Mohammad Zohaib of IBA, environmentalist Rafiul Haq, Anum Akram of Indus Ho-spital, GM Corporate & CSR of SSGC Shahbaz Islam, Maleeha Khan of Indus Earth, Govind Ram of FFC Energy, Shazia Alam, and Yogi Wajahat.

CSR Club Chairman Naeem Qureshi informed participants of the meeting about progress and activities of the club in 2018; training workshops in Information Technology and cellular phone repairing for the youth of the District Tharparkar in Sindh under a joint venture of CSR- between Sindh Engro Coal Mining Company and Siylani Welfare Trust. In this regard, the Siylani Welfare Trust will soon establish a religious seminary and school for the prospective students in Thar area.

Some 12,000 tree saplings were either planted in different areas of the city or were donated to various organizations and NGOs. This was done in collaboration with the District Municipal Corporation Central, Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Centre and other organizations.

Speaking on the occasion, former caretaker Sindh minister applauded CSR Club saying that such collaborative efforts in the society were indeed praiseworthy. Tree plantation and cleanliness campaigns were crucial for the improvement of the city environment.
