Poor man, suffering from mysterious disease, appeals for help

Published on: December 12, 2018 9:18 PM

RATODERO: A 28-year young man Arif Hussain Soomro is suffering from mysterious disease which has paralyzed his life. He is resident of village Masoodero near Ratodero. His both feet are infected and he cannot move freely like healthy persons.

His parents are peasants and cannot afford high treatment costs but even then they have been taking him to various doctors in Ratodero and Larkana who could not properly diagnose his ailment, just provided him treatment and also removed his two swellings from the back of his body each weighing about 7 kg.

His deformed feet are by birth due to which he has become handicapped unable to walk and earn livelihood for supporting his poverty-stricken family. Some doctors said that these swelling are tumor-like multiple swellings on his feet.

His father Qadir Bux Soomro, said on Wednesday, while talking to a team of newsmen who visited the patient on hearing about his sufferings, “I himself has become patient of diabetes as I cannot see the woes of my young son.

He said he himself remained in the hospital for days to control high sugar. Mumtaz Khatoon, mother of Arif, said that they don’t have much to pay to the senior doctors and also buy costly medicines as they earn livelihood through tilling land of a grower.

She said she wanted to make her son groom but due to his ailment it will remain my wish only. She said some doctors told them that treatment of her son is available abroad but we cannot afford the costs as our earnings are not even enough to have 3-times food daily adding that’s why we have left him untreated at the mercy of his Creator after spending a lot.

His brother Imtiaz Soomro said that they have sold almost every valuable in their home to get the medical treatment but all in vain and there is nothing left to sell now. He said we are waiting for a philanthropist or a Masseeha to come forward and help us in getting proper treatment of my brother so that he may also be able to live life of a healthy person and earn our blessings.

Arif said that he had lost the hope of life but when brothers like you (journalists) come he starts hoping that something will now be done for him. He said we have been voting for PPP and urged its leadership to direct Sindh government for his proper treatment.
