BAHAWALPUR: A 10-member student delegation of the Sadiq Public School, accompanied by their headmistress, left Bahawalpur for the United States to participate in the Harvard Model United Nations Conference in Boston. The four-day conference, organised by the Harvard University and is a simulation of the United Nations, will be started from January 26. More than 3,300 delegates and their faculty advisors from different part of the world will participate in the 64th session of the Harvard Model United Nations. They will address some of the world’s most pressing challenges. “Being selected to participate in the Harvard MUN is a great achievement for the school as well as for the region,” said Nouman Qureshi, principal of the school, while expressing his pleasure. “Together with our staff of over 200 Harvard University undergraduates, delegates will experience the challenges and thrills of international diplomacy by assuming the roles of UN representatives and other international decision-makers,” Victor J Kamenker, the secretary-general of the Harvard MUN, said in a written statement on official website. He said that the delegations in attendance hailed from over 40 countries.
