The greenback closed firm in value against the rupee in the interbank and in open market, treasurers and currency dealers said. It started day’s trading at Rs 132.80 for buying and closed at Rs 132.90 for buying and Rs 133.20 for selling in interbank. It gained 10 paisas. The euro witnessed flat trend against rupee as it closed at Rs 151.09 for buying and closed at Rs 151.29 for selling. The pound sterling remained flat against domestic currency as it closed at Rs 173.77 for buying and Rs 173.97 for selling. Open market: The dollar remained firm against the rupee, dealers said. It started the day’s trading at Rs 133.20 for buying and closed at Rs 132.45 for buying after 25 paisas upward variation in value and stood at Rs 133.40 for selling. The euro remained firm versus the rupee as it started day’s trading at Rs 150.40 for buying and with 10 paisas change in value it closed at Rs 150.50 for buying and at Rs 150.70 for selling. The pound remained firm against rupee as it started the day’s trading at Rs 172 for buying, closed up by 50 paisas in value for buying and closed at Rs 172.20 for selling.
