An anti-terrorism court (ATC) on Tuesday sentenced two men to 21 years in jail for their involvement in the Sindh Secretariat attack. During the hearing, the Rangers prosecutor claimed that the two suspects, Nasir Khajji and Faheem Mirdi had admitted during the interrogation process that they had been trained in Faridabad, India. The prosecutor told the court that both the men had been taken to India by Muttahida Qaumi Movement-London’s (MQM-L) Javaid and Ajmal Pahari. According to the prosecution’s claim, arms and explosive materials were recovered from Khajji and Mirchi’s custody. Both the men were booked under the Explosive Substances Act and Sindh Arms Act 2013 and sentenced to 21 years each. The Sindh Secretariat was attacked on June 1, 1995 seven rockets hit the Sindh Secretariat, destroying several offices in the building. No causalities were reported.
