PESHAWAR: The Peshawar Capital City Police have announced certificate and cash price for a traffic warden who refused to take the bribe from a person whom he grasped for violating traffic rules.
The traffic warden seized the driver for illegally using police flashlight on his vehicle as use of laser and flash lights on general public vehicles are banned.
The city police announced the certificate and cash price after the video of traffic warden refusing bribe went viral.
Asif Raza, the traffic warden gripped a vehicle from Abbottabad with flashlight installed on it. The driver of the vehicle tried to bribe him Rs 300, which he refused to take.
“Even you give me Rs 300 million I will not accept it,” said the traffic warden.
The driver who was coming from Abbottabad was considered a guest in Peshawar and after a warning allowed to go.
The city police officer Qazi Jameel appreciated the honesty of the traffic warden and announced certificate and cash prize of Rs 5,000 for him.
The CCPO further said that over 300 flash and laser lights were being confiscated by the traffic police in three days in the city.
