KARACHI: Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah on Wednesday approved the hiring of 6,000 teachers in the schools of Sindh. While heading a meeting on education development portfolio, he said, “The teachers will be appointed on merit.” The officials of Education Department were told to open 2,000 new schools by March. The 6,000 newly hired teachers would be appointed for teaching in these schools. Murad Ali Shah ordered the Education Department officials for the preparation of the draft bill regarding the hiring. He expressed his satisfaction over the syllabus used at schools in the province, saying a curriculum authority for the province would be formed. Moreover, at the meeting, the chief minister was briefed that 26,000 posts were vacant in the education department.
