Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan (MQM-P) will get another portfolio in the federal cabinet, MQM-P’s leader Aamir Khan said on Monday. Talking to journalists outside the Sindh High Courtr, Khan said that the MQM-P would name Syed Aminul Haque as its candidate for minister of overseas Pakistanis. “We have had a detailed discussion with Prime Minister Imran Khan during his visit to Karachi on Sunday,” Khan said. “We don’t know who has been given false assurances. All we know is that MQM-P has not been given false assurances.” Replying to a question, the MQM-P leader said that his party was not linked to any cases pertaining to the 12 May riots. The MQM-P, a Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) ally in the centre, had already clinched two ministries. MQM-P’s Farogh Naseem is currently serving as the law minister, while Khalid Maqbool Siddiui is the minister for information technology and telecommunication.
