police Police claimed to have killed three suspected terrorists in what they said was an encounter in Ittehad Town area of the city, on Tuesday, during a ‘targeted raid’ conducted by Anti-Violent Crime Cell (AVCC). Police also claimed that suicide jackets and weapons were recovered from the suspects. AVCC Senior Superintendent Police (SSP), Irfan Bahadur while talking to journalists claimed that the suspects who were killed were ‘terrorists’ who belonged to a ‘banned outfit’. However, when asked which banned outfit the three men had belonged to, Bahadur was clueless. Interestingly, the police could not ascertain the identities of the killed suspects, who, according to Bahadur, were ‘involved in several terror cases’. The SSP, however, said that the AVCC conducted the ‘raid’ on a tip off. “The suspects resorted to firing during the raid and got killed by retaliatory fire from police,” SSP Irfan Bahadur claimed.
