Inspector General of Police (IGP) Amjad Javed Saleemi directed police officials to review strategies made for elimination of street crimes on Wednesday. IGP Saleemi presided over a meeting on law and order situation and street crimes in the megapolis. During the meeting, matters regarding counter-terrorism measures including killing, kidnappings, street crimes and other heavy crimes in city were discussed extensively. Addressing the meeting the IGP said that officials should ensure friendly environment in police station and should offer support to people visiting police stations. IGP directed police officers to increase anti crime action and focus on street and other crimes in the city by taking serious action to eliminate crimes. He also ordered officers to remain strictly vigilant during random snap checking, picketing and patrolling. Published in Daily Times, August 30th 2018.
