ISLAMABAD: The Interior Ministry has instructed the provinces to arrest 474 proclaimed offenders. As many as 30 criminals are wanted by Islamabad police, 20 by FIA, 121 by Punjab police and 64 are wanted by Sindh police. Similarly, 189 are wanted by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa police, 28 are declared proclaimed offenders by Balochistan police and 22 are wanted by Gilgit Baltistan police. Sources said that the proclaimed offenders are wanted in “sensitive cases”. The ministry has formed a three- member committee for establishment of a special force for security of judges. The committee would be headed by National Police Bureau Director Kaleem Imam, whereas Islamabad IG Tariq Masood Yaseen and National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA) DG Umer Sheikh would be members. According to a notification, the committee would review the setup of new force its budget and needs. The committee would present its report to the interior secretary within 15 days.
