
Mr. Khiladi Kumar in his recent interview said that there is no similarity between his upcoming film Gold and SRK’s Chak De! India and it is ‘frivolous’ to compare these two films.
“Everything nowadays is a competition. For me, it is all about doing a good film. Chak De! India was a different story, Gold is different. It is frivolous to even think like that or competing with that film. Don’t compare it, it is all different.”

Although both films are based on the niche of Hockey but the plots of the movies are quite different from each other.
The 2007 SRK starer is inspired by Indian women national field hockey team’s win at the 2002 Commonwealth games, while Gold revolves around a story of a man named Tapan Das, who formed a gold medal winning hockey team from scratch.
Talking about his character, Akshay said: “He is a controversial guy. He is a drunk and a cheater. But within a year, he brought 11 people together, made a team and went for Olympics, won the gold medal. I felt his story was unbelievable and needed to be told.”
Gold features Akshay Kumar along with Kunal Kapoor, Mouni Roy, Sunny Kaushal, Vineet Kumar Singh and Amit Sadh. The Reema Kagti directorial is slated for August 15 and will clash with John Abraham’s Satyamev Jayate.
