
Australian middle-order batsman Glen Maxwell said that he did not intend to refuse shaking hands with Pakistan skipper Sarfaraz Ahmed and that it was a genuine oversight.
After Pakistan’s victory in the final against Australia on Sunday, Sarfaraz stepped forward to shake hands with Glenn Maxwell but the Aussie batsman did not take notice of it.

Maxwell was heavily criticised for his ‘unsportman-like’ behaviour, to which he responded via a social media message saying that it was an oversight and he did not intend to do so and so.

He added that he was looking for Sarfaraz in the hotel to shake his hand and congratulated him on Pakistan’s victory.
