Sindh Land Utilisation Dept to allot land to PDMA for establishing offices

KARACHI: Sindh’s Land Utilization Department is all set to approve provisions of state lands to the Provincial Disaster Management Authority (PDMA) to establish it’s headquarter at Karachi and divisional offices in the province, Daily Times has learnt.

According to sources, Secretary Rehabilitation had requested the Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Sindh regarding the allotment of land for construction of office complex for PDMA headquarters at Karachi and divisional offices on May 31, 2016. The then chief minister had ordered for examination and further proceeding on the said matter.

The availability reports were invited from the concerned deputy commissioners in which the deputy commissioner West Karachi furnished the availability of land measuring 1 acre on Mai Kolachi Bypass. He has pointed out that the entire land is re-claimed and un-surveyed and some areas under back water mangroves. Besides, KPT also claims on the said land and the same is required to PDMA for headquarters and he further proposed 4 acres land situated at K-28 Phse-II Trans Lyari Hawksbay Road Karachi for Warehouse Training Academy.

Moreover, the deputy commissioner Mirpurkhas furnished the availability of land at: Mirpurkhas (1 acre), Kot Ghulam Muhammad (1 acre), Sindhri (25 Ghuntas), Dighri (irrigation banglow having huge space is available), H B Marri (15,000 sq fts), and Jhudo (30,000 sq fts), sources informed.

While, the deputy commissioner Umerkot furnished the availability of lands as follow: Umerkot (3,000 sqm), Pithoro (1 to 50 acres), Samaro (1 to 19 acres) and Kunri (3,000 sqm).

The deputy commissioner Shaheed Benazirabad proposed 1 acre at Deh Chhanbiar taluka Skaran for Divisional Headquarter and 4 acres at Deh Chhanbiar taluka Skaran for Warehouse Training Academy.

In order to give approval for the provision of land to the PDMA, a high-powered meeting of the Board of Revenue official under the chairmanship of Senior Member Board of Revenue has been summoned at the Committee Room of the New Sindh Secretariat on March 2, 2017 at 2:30pm.
