
KHAIRPUR: Two people were killed while another injured on Wednesday after a wild brawl erupted between members of Gabol Community at Natho Gabol Village near Mirpur Mathelo, a town in Ghotki District of Sindh province.
Reportedly, the fight began after the groups claimed ownership over irrigation water and attacked each other with axes and lathes.
Consequently, a villager Dodo Gabol died on the spot while his son Nisar Gabol was critically injured and shifted to Mirpur Mathelo Hospital.
The Dada Laghari police filed FIR and have been conducting raids to arrest the culprits.
Meanwhile, another youth Anwer Ali Channa also died in the clash.
Following the incident, his heirs and relatives held a protest and blocked link road. After police assured them that the culprits would soon be arrested, the protesters ended their demonstration.
Later, after medico-legal formality was completed, the body was handed over to his heirs.
DSJ sentences killer to death
The Ghotki District and Sessions Judge (DSJ) Sayed Sharafuddin Shah on Wednesday sentenced Rahamdil Gabol to death after being convicted of the murder of Nazir Ahmed Gabol.
Reportedly, the court also imposed a fine of Rs 200,000 on Rahamdil who killed Nazir in 2007.
Meanwhile, he has been sent to central jail in Sukkur.
