NAUNDERO: The womenfolk of Agani Community on Thursday held a protest against misogynistic attitude of police officers of Ketty Mumtaz Police Station.
The protesters blocked the main Larkana-Sukkur Highway near Agani Turn and chanted full-throat slogans against high-handedness of police officers. They told the media that their donkey and a cow ‘mistakenly’ entered the croplands of a feudal lord Guddu Bhutto in Sajan Agani Village for grazing.
Meanwhile, Guddu filed a complaint against them at Ketty Mumtaz police station a few days ago. Consequently, the police raided their houses and seized their cattle instead of arresting the accused in the FIR.
The protesters claimed that the police officers had beaten their women ‘mercilessly’.
They further alleged that the police officers had established a picket nearby their houses for the last eight days and ate 12 hens and two goats. “They have beaten our donkey and buffalo to death and looted our valuables,” they said while calling such an act as inhuman.
Meanwhile, the station house officer (SHO) Mahotta tried to remove the protesters forcibly by male police force. Contrarily, the Ketty Mumtaz Police Station SHO Nisar Brohi said that an FIR of a minor dispute was registered by Guddu Bhutto against twelve accused people. The police took action to arrest the accused criminals.
