LARKANA: Larkana Action Committee (LAC) has called for a three-day hunger-strike from May 28 to protest for recovery of 65 missing persons which include political workers, writers and journalists. A camp has been established in front of Larkana Press Club in which leaders and activists of various parties including Jeay Sindh Qaumi Mahaz, Awami Workers Party, Jeay Sindh Mahaz, Watan Dost Mazdoor Federation, Pakistan Peoples Party Shaheed Bhutto (PPP-SB), Communist Party, WAPDA Union, Jeay Sindh Students’ Federation, Awami Jamhoori Party, Sindhi Adabi Sangat, Writers Club, Sindh Civil Society Forum, Awami Raj Tehreek and other notables participated. “65 political workers, journalists and writers have been missing for a long time,” the protesting leaders of the parties said while talking to the media. “This gross violation of human rights is not addressed by the concerned authorities,” they said while adding that if missing persons were accused of any crime or violation of law, then they should have been produced before the court of law. Importantly, they condemned the use of force against Sindhi women who were protesting in Karachi for the same cause. The protesters demanded the Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) to order an immediate recovery of all missing persons and ensure a fair trial for them in the court of law.
