KANDHKOT: A man gunned down his wife and her alleged paramour on Friday at Wajib Ali Golato village in Kashmore-Kandhkot district of Sindh province.
According to a police official, Riaz Ahmed Domki, Dost Ali alias Bagi killed his wife Samina and his neighbour Mir Hassan over extramarital affair and fled from the crime spot.
Consequently, the police arrived and shifted the bodies to the Kandhkot Hospital for medico-legal assessment. Later, the bodies were handed over to their heirs. Meanwhile, the police arrested Dost Ali and started further investigation into the matter.
Reportedly, Samina married Dost Ali a few years ago, but they did not bore any child. Honour killings have become a common practice in Pakistan despite recent legal reforms, to prevent women from exercising her choice in love and marriage. The government needs to devise and implement even stricter measures to prevent ‘shaming’ humanity.
