KHYBER AGENCY: The Awami National Party (ANP) activists mark May 7 as a historic day when the name of province was amended from North West Frontier Province (NWFP) to Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP). The volunteers of ANP carried out a rally, which accumulated at Bab-e-Khyber. Besides, local leaders and tribesmen also participated in the gathering.
While addressing the rally, KP ANP president Shah Hussain Shinwari, Landi Kotal President Saida Jan Afridi, Jamrud president Muhammad Umar and Bara President Charagh Afridi praised the efforts of their party to achieve fruitful outcome.
They asserted that the Pakhtun Community got a new name of the province as per their wish. “Likewise, Pakhtuns acquired their ‘true’ identity in terms of a new name of the province; the tribesmen would earn a respectable status in the country when FATA merges with KP,” they declared while carrying banners inscribed with slogans in the favour of their opinion.
