
DADU: The Chairman Mella Committee and Jamshoro Deputy Commissioner (DC) Capt (R) Fariduddin Mustafa on Sunday declined that devotees died from heatstroke at the Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
During a press conference, he revealed that heatstroke units were established at many places in the city and 10 million bottles of drinking water were distributed among 1.8 million devotees, who arrived from various parts of the country.
He claimed that Hyderabad Electric Supply Company (HESCO) pledged to supply electricity without any power outages, but they failed to do so.
He said that security and facilities to the devotees were planned and the Urs has been monitored through 200 CCTV cameras.
He said that Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will pay a visit to the shrine on Monday at the conclusion of Urs celebrations.
