LAI announces to give hard-time to PPP

Published on: April 29, 2018 2:35 AM

LARKANA: Larkana Awami Ittehad (LAI) on Saturday gathered thousands of people at Otha Chowk under ‘anti-PPP’ alliance comprising of many political parties.

The leaders flexed their muscles and declared to give hard time to Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) in the upcoming general elections. Pakistan Peoples Party Workers president Dr Safdar Abbasi, Pakistan Muslim League Functional leader Akbar Shah Rashdi, Jamiat Ulema-e Islam (F) leader Maulana Rashid Mahmood Soomro and others addressed the huge public gathering.

In his address Akbar Rashdi said that people suffered hunger and unemployment during the tenure of PPP. He alleged PPP of looting and plundering taxpayers’ money.

“The home district of the Bhutto leaders has been ruined since no development work was done, despite the allocation of billions of rupees in the budget,” he remarked.

Former MPA Munawar Ali Abbasi claimed his association with Benazir Bhutto but denounced to support ‘thieves’ who emerged as politicians from the back-door.

“Why killers of Benazir Bhutto could not be arrested despite PPP’s rule for ten years?” Rashid Mahmood asked.

Unar pledged to defeat PPP in their stronghold and said “Corrupts would go to jail for their misdeeds”. LAI leader Moazim Ali Abbasi alleged that taxpayers money was looted in the last ten by ‘corruption-kings’. He maintained that people would not vote for them in the upcoming general elections.

“More than 16 sugar mills were established in Sindh to deprive growers of their rights secured by the constitution of Pakistan,” he added.

He demanded justice for Saima Jarwar as it was delivered in the Zainab’s murder case. He threatened to launch an agitation, otherwise. Adil Altaf Unar highlighted hospitals’ condition and said that there were no medical facilities available at the health centres. Gunny bags were distributed unfairly under the influence of ‘corrupt politicians’.

Jeay Sindh Mahaz (JSM) Chief Riaz Chandio also addressed the gathering and alleged “PPP’s corruption is unprecedented in the history”. He outlined the unsolved murder cases of Bashir Khan Qureshi, Senator Khalid Mahmood Soomro and other notables, who were killed in the tenure of PPP.

Maulana Nasir Mahmood Soomro, Adnan Unar also addressed the gathering.
