PTI Chairman Barrister Gohar Disagrees with Fazlur Rehman’s Remarks on Martyrs

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar has said he did not listen to Maulana Fazlur Rehman’s full speech but does not agree with his remarks regarding the martyrs’ sacrifices. He stressed that no amount of money can compensate for those who gave their lives for the country.

Speaking to the media in Rawalpindi, Barrister Gohar said Pakistan’s soldiers continue to make the ultimate sacrifice in the line of duty. He added that even all the wealth in the world could never match the value of the sacrifices made by the nation’s martyrs.

He urged political leaders to avoid bringing martyrs into political debates and to choose their words carefully during public speeches. According to him, the sacrifices of the country’s fallen heroes deserve respect and should remain above politics.

Barrister Gohar also said that PTI’s parliamentary and political committees would decide the party’s strategy for August 5. He questioned the message that would be sent if Aleema Khan were also jailed after the PTI founder and his nephew.

He further called for opposition leaders to be allowed to visit Azad Kashmir in an effort to help resolve the current situation. He said PTI may review its decision to boycott elections in Azad Kashmir if conditions improve, while reaffirming that the party does not support any anti-state narrative and fully respects the martyrs’ sacrifices.
