Sir: The idea of hung parliament emerged in the circles of discussion on political arena of Pakistan as if it was the only option to go with given the current situation. Interestingly, the supporters of this concept largely appeared from the camps that are considered mouthpiece of Pakistan Muslim League (N). They put forward this idea that apparently favours PTI as they might get enough of it, but the reality seems quite opposite. If a hung parliament, having no clear majority of any political party, appears on the scene as a result of anticipated General Election 2018, not only will it prevent any major legislation but also halt the progression of democratic culture. Political Engineering on the cost of democratic norms that are yet trying to find roots in our country will only hamper the ten years old steady course rather set up a path for development.
