GUJRANWALA: The Police arrested 411 proclaimed offenders during a crackdown against criminals during the month of April and recovered large amount of illegal arms and drugs from the accused. According to a press release by police department, the district police recovered 100 arms from the suspects including 3 Kalashnikovs, 6 rifles, 7 guns, 84 pistols, 1 carbine and hundreds of bullets. During a crackdown against drug pushers, the police recovered 4kg heroin, 28 kg Charas and 700 bottles of liquor. 141 drug cases were registered against the suspects. Meanwhile, six cases of arms exhibition, five cases for violation of amply fire act and two cases against gamblers were registered. City police officer Ashfaq Khan vowed to take a stern action in the upcoming days against criminals and said that no one would be allowed to violate the constitution. Labourer electrocuted in factory A laborer was electrocuted while working in a factory at Mian Sansi road in Gujranwala. According to report, 22-year-old Sumeer was working in a metal factory when he received electric shocks from an electric water cooler. Consequently, Sumeer died. Youth burnt A youth set himself on fire over a minor issue at Khiali Shah Pur. According to report, Hassan fell in love with a girl while his parents got him engaged with another girl.
