GUJRANWALA: The CIA police have arrested a boy for allegedly blackmailing girls using fake profiles on the social media. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Imran Abbas said that the accused Mumtaz Ibrahim, a resident of talwandi khajoor wali, created dozens of fake profiles to contact girls. Then he blackmailed their parents to pay the extortion money using their pictures and videos. Meanwhile, the accused has confessed that he blackmailed girls and uploaded their pictures on the social media. The investigation team has recovered hundreds of pictures from his possession and found that the accused was involved in robbery and other criminal activities as well. Police arrests bank guard after he tried to rob bank The police have arrested a black security guard who allegedly tried to rob a bank on Saturday. According to a report, after receiving information that few robbers have entered a private bank, the Model Town police rushed and covered the building from all sides. The security guard who stood on the main gate told the police that another guard namely Asad has locked himself in the bank after aerial firing. Asad laid down his arms and surrendered as police sent his uncle inside the bank to negotiate. According to the police, the arrested guard didn’t break open any lockers of the bank but he is under investigation for aerial firing. Published in Daily Times, April 15th 2018.
