Mawra Hocane’s stance on Salman Khan’s conviction stirs social media storm

Published on: April 6, 2018 6:17 PM

On Thursday, Bollywood actor, Salman Khan was sentenced to five years in prison for poaching of two blackbucks almost two decades ago.

Many celebrities have been expressing their support for the actor through social media. Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane also reacted to the verdict. She raised her voice for Salman Khan on Twitter.

She tweeted,” “In a world with no “NO” human rights, a great human being is being punished for killing an animal umpteen years ago under animal rights. Bash me all you want, but there’s something completely wrong about it.. mind you such human beings are our saving grace!”.

She was all set for the backlash coming her way. Her tweet definitely struck a chord.

Hundreds of God’s creatures have faced extinction at the hands of humans hunting for trophies, the white rhino only recently. Everyone, no matter how benevolent a producer, ought to be accountable for their actions. Gratitude shouldn’t conflict with principle.

Ironic that Pakistani artists & former cricket stars are sending out sympathies for #SalmanKhan on his unlawful act.👎However not standing against terror supporting Indians who are attacking #ShahidAfridi personally for raising voice for innocent Kashmiris.🇵🇰 #AfridiWithKashmir

Are u out of ur mind?
The same man has been involved in hit & run incident that resulted in death & he has also beaten up a woman & threatened female journos.
He isnt our saving grace, he is an example of everything that’s wrong with today’s society.

Thank God u r not sleeping on footpath.

And you are doing a law course!!

Tomorrow a Billionaire can murder people…& then start a Charity Hospital for the poor…& you want that rich man’s crimes to be overlooked??

So only those people should face justice who are not rich enough??

Salman deserves this punishment.

So a murderer, who didn’t just kill animals but humans as well, is our saving grace according to you? Baji, please reevaluate how you see the world

Here is Marwa retaliating back

Just because I believe his sentence is harsh doesn’t automatically mean I condone animal extinction. We must have compassion towards the human race first & FOREMOST! Which means sometimes you have to let go in view of the OUTSTANDING good work they have done! #SalmanKhan 2/2
