Lahore: Chairman Pakistan Ulema Council Hafiz Muhammad Tahir Mehmood Ashrafi said that missile attacks on urban regions of Saudi Arabia are intolerable for Muslims. As a matter of urgency, interference of Houthi rebels and their perpetrators has to be restrained particularly in Harmain Al-Sharifain. After a consultative meeting of political and religious organizations, he told media that it would bring severe consequences for Houthi rebels to endanger peace and sanctity of Holy Sites of Muslims. At Jamia Masjid Mahaz bin Jabal in Islamabad, he vowed that Pakistan will safeguard and ensure the defense and solidarity of Saudi Arabia. He said that evil forces are maneuvering conspiracies to destabilise Muslim countries. Furthermore, he said that after devastation of Libya, Iraq, Yemen and Syria, forces are playing their active role to put anarchy and chaos in Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. Recently, Houthi rebels have launched missiles at urban regions of Saudi Arabia but security forces foiled the attacks using anti-missile defense mechanism. In past, Houthi rebels had tried to trigger missile attacks and planted terrorist acts at Harmain Al-Sharifain during Muslim pilgrimage. He said that Muslim world have to actively respond and take stern action against them. Security forces have proven their mettle regarding the defense and safeguard of Holy Sites. Ashrafi claimed that the launched missiles were made by Iran and Iranian authorities should present their official stance on the critical situation and keep an account of such incidents in future. Unlike Syria and Iraq, Saudi Arabia would not allow foreign intervention. The Chairman of Ulema Council demanded urgent sessions of Organisation of Islamic Conference (OIC) and Security Council on the issue. At the occasion, notable office-bearers and representatives of Pakistan Ulema Council were present in the meeting including Maulana Abdul Hameed Watto, Qazi Matiullah Saeedi, Maulana Abdul Hameed Sabri, Maulana Aseed ur Rehman, Maulana Shafi Qasmi, Maulana Tahir Aqeel Awan, Maulana Nauman Hashir, Maulana Faheem ul Hassan, Allama Zakir ur Rehman, Maulana Naib Khan, Maulana Ashfaq Patafi and Mufti Zia Madi and Allama Tahir ur Hassan.
