Sir: I want to draw your kind attention towards persisting vilification crusade against Pakistani former ambassador. It has been witnessed that Pakistani former diplomat Hussain Haqqani name has been used as a bogeyman for many failures on diplomatic front, for over six years and continuing. Ambassadors are usually keepers of a country’s secrets and there is no precedent in modern history of a former ambassador being targeted by politicians, the superior judiciary, or the establishment of a country. Now it has almost been established, that the so called Mamogate case was a fabricated move against former diplomat and actually the main petitioner former Prime Minister does not seem interested in pursuing the case. But somehow meanwhile the superior judiciary is again trying to resurrect the case and FIA is in an attempt to reproof the case by other means. This wild goose chase to pin the former ambassador of Pakistan to US Husain Haqqani should stop because If the facts behind the case became too much public it will be embarrassing for all the stake holders. Such delicate matters once discussed in public domain never result into any positive outcome. Asad Shakeel Via email Published in Daily Times, March 23rd 2018.
