SHIKARPUR: Students should be imparted skills that prepare them for practical life, the Sukkur IBA University vice chancellor said on Sunday. He was distributing certificates and toolkits among the successful students of Prime Minister’s Youth Skill Development Programme Phase-II at the auditorium of Sukkur IBA University. “Students need to equip themselves with diverse skills to survive the challenges of change. In future, technologies like big data and artificial intelligence will replace human work force. Therefore, we need diversified skills,” he said. Certificates were distributed among 135 students on successfully completing different vocational courses including accountancy and entrepreneurship, general electrician, solar energy/UPS, graphic designing, autocad and sales and marketing. NAVTTC focal person Ikhtiar Ahmed Khoso said that these courses were offered at Sukkur IBA University under Prime Minister’s Youth Skills Development. “These courses are offered free of cost and students are also given stipend of Rs 3,000 per month,” he said.
