ISLAMABAD: Three terrorism suspects were killed in an intelligence-based operation in Dera Ghazi Khan on Saturday. Two paramilitary soldiers were injured in the shootout, said a statement issued by the army. It said the operation was carried out jointly by the Punjab Rangers, Elite police and intelligence agencies on a tip off. The Inter-Services Public Relations statement further said that a tranche of improvised explosive devices, rocket launchers, AK-47 rifles, grenades, and ammunition was recovered in the raid. The operation was part of the grand offensive against terrorism called ‘Raddul Fasaad’. The operation had been launched in February last year to ‘eliminate the menace of terrorism from the country’ by targeting sleeper cells of militants, and their supporters and financiers.
