PESHAWAR: A man murdered four members of his family on Sunday in Attock. Asif Shah, a resident of Maari village, allegedly shot dead his wife, Ruqaiyya, his daughters Komal, 26, and Rida, 24, and injured his 15-year-old son, Ashtar. The boy also succumbed to his injuries at a hospital later. Attock District Police Officer (DPO) Ibadat Nisar said Shah became furious when his family members approved a marriage proposal for his eldest daughter without his consent. “The family received a marriage proposal for Komal. However, Shah did not want his elder daughter to get married to the suitor. His family members, however, insisted on her marrying this man. Because of this, there were frequent arguments in the household,” the DPO said. Shah had threatened to kill his family if they raised the matter of the girl’s marriage again. “When the man saw his family members agree that Komal would marry her suitor against his wishes, he shot his wife and three children dead.
