Poets, writers protest against Shikarpur AC over Ajrak Club issue

Published on: February 4, 2018 2:17 AM

SHIKARPUR: A number of columnist, poets, artists, story writers, and civil society representatives Saturday took out a protest rally against Shikarpur Assistant Commissioner who allegedly misbehaved with prominent columnist Nasim Bukhari, over the issue of Ajrak Club Shikarpur.

The protest was was taken out from Jugan Nath Public Library up to Shikarpur Press Club.

Speaking in front of the press club, speakers strongly condemned the detained of Nasim Bukhari on the directives of Syed Arbab Ali Shah, the assistant commissioner Shikarpur, over the issue of Ajrak Club, when he along with Dr Agha Fareed, secretary Ajrak Club, had called by his office [AC office Shikarpur].

Protester allegedly said that Mukhtiarkar Shikarpur namely Zahid Bhatti has occupied Ajrak Club’s three rooms without having any document and permission and lamented over the apathy of district administration and in spite of that AC Arbab Shah misbehaved and detained Nasim Bhukari at DC office’s police room which is condemnable act.

Speakers including Anwar Soomro, Dr Amir Abbas Soormo, PTI Shikarpur, Sajjad Mahar, Mumtaz Mangi, Hameer Chandio, Gohar Sindhi, Aijiz Mangi, Muhbat Babilani, Waheed Mohassan and other writers, columnist and artists decided to initiate “communication campaign” in across Sindh against occupation on Ajrak Club and attitude of AC Shikarpur for larger interests of the writers, columnist, artists and people of Shikarpur because according to them Ajrak Club would play its positive role in congested atmosphere of Shikarpur.

They also demanded the higher authorities of Sindh government to take notice of occupation on Ajrak Club and misbehaved with Nasim Bukhari.

On the other hand, this reporter tried his level best to contact with AC Arbab Shah, but all in vain.

It is worthwhile to mention here that Mukhtiarkar Shikarpur shifted his office to Ajrak Club Building a couple of months ago and according Zahid Bhatti, the Mukhtiarkar Shikarpur, that this building had old Mukhtiarkar office and it is property of Revenue Department, GoS, and after renovation of this building Mukhtikar office has been moved here because of Shikarpur has no proper Mukhtiarkar office and this is property of Revenue Department, he said.
