Peaceful seminar in Bara

KHYBER AGENCY: To create harmony and unity among the tribesmen, an integration peace seminar was held at Thakia Markaz area of Ber-Kamber Tehsil Bara on Tuesday. In addition to the Political Agent (PA), Khyber Agency Khalid Mehmood as chief guest, Assistance Political Agent (APA) Bara Ismatullah Wazir, large numbers of tribal elders from eight sub-tribesmen of Afridi and political officials were among the participants. Addressing on the occasion PA Khalid Mehmood said that by rendering matchless sacrifices, peace had been restored in Bara and it was the prime duty of the dwellers of the area not to let any miscreant to sabotage the peaceful environment of Bara. “Development projects has been initiated in Bara and in keeping in view the prevailed situation, approximately 80 % development funds are being utilized in Bara to facilitate the tribal at their door steps”, PA remarked. He urged the elders to be united and join hands with them to address the grievances of the tribesmen. PA also announced opening of Dwa Toai Road of Tirah Valley. Earlier, Malik Muhammad Amin, Malik Waris Khan Afridi, Malik Daud, Pir Abdullah Shah appraised the top political official of their problems.

SOA elections held in Jamrud to elect office bearers: Abdur Rehman was elected President and Mir Sardar was chosen as General Sectary of Schools Officers Association (SOA) Khyber Agency here yesterday. In this connection a meeting was held in the Government High School No.2, Jamrud that was attended by a large number of the schools principals and headmasters from Landi Kotal,Bara and Jamrud Tehsils of Khyber Agency. Through a secret ballot, Principal Abdur Rehman was elected President and Samia Zaib senior vice-President while Mir Sardar was chosen as General Sectary. Similarly, Nawab Gul, Ihsan Shah and Muhammad Usman were selected as vice-Presidents from Bara, Landi Kotal and Jamrud whereas Haji Bhadar Khan,Haji Zahid Khan and Muhammad Zahid respectively were elected as Press Sectary, Joint Sectary and Finance Sectary. Speaking on the occasion the newly elected President assured that he along with his cabinet members would strive hard to solve long lasting problems prevailed in the educational institutions and to take up on every forum, the up-gradation problem of the teachers’ community.
