LOS ANGELES: The National Hockey League slapped Anaheim Ducks forward Nick Ritchie with a two-game suspension after he sucker-punched Chicago Blackhawks defenceman Michal Rozsival in a game on Thursday night. The 21-year-old Canadian will miss the Ducks’ final regular season game on Sunday against the Los Angeles Kings and the first game of the playoffs. Ritchie was handed a match penalty in the third period of a 4-0 win over Chicago after he delivered a punch to the head of an unsuspecting Rozsival of the Czech Republic. The league’s disciplinary officials said on Friday that Rozsival gave no indication that he was a willing combatant in a potential fight and that Ritchie delivered a “forceful, bare-knuckle punch” anyway. Ritchie was also fined $5,000 for the blow. In 77 games this season Ritchie has 14 goals and 28 points.
